Disadvantages of pile foundations:

• impossibility of settling on rocks;
• admissibility of use only for one-story houses and low-rise buildings;
• susceptibility of metal elements to corrosive destruction;

The procedure for the construction of a one-story log house on stilts

Step-by-step instructions for the construction of a one-story foundation house include such mandatory items as drilling pits, installing piles and pouring them with concrete. In addition, it includes the preparation of the foundation of a wooden house, the construction of walls and a roof.

Installation of piles

Wells for supports are made by hand drilling, using casing pipes or using piles of a screw structure.

Driven pile installation process:

1. Wells of the required depth are made on a pre-marked site using a special drill.
2. The bottom of each of them is covered with sand or sand and gravel mixture.
3. The composition is rammed until its thickness reaches 150-200 mm.
4. A layer of waterproofing is laid.
5. In wet and crumbling soil, the borehole walls are treated with clay solution, creating a waterproof "crust".
6. A reinforcing cage is installed in the finished cavity.

At the final stage of work, it remains to pour the previously prepared concrete mixture into the pits with reinforcement and wait for it to set.

Casing Pouring

When installing casing pipes, proceed as follows:

1. Wells are drilled at pre-marked points.
2. The casing pipes themselves are lowered into the prepared wellbore (for this, special mechanisms (jacks) are used.
3. If a decision is made to make a pile support with an extended base, the soil layer in this place is cut off with a special mechanical knife.
4. A sand cushion is made in the form of an underlying layer, on which waterproofing is then laid.
5. Next, you need to immerse a previously prepared reinforcing cage in the pipe.
6. The ready-mixed concrete is poured into it in layers with the obligatory compaction of each of them by means of an electromechanical vibrator.

As the concrete is poured and "seized", separate fragments of the casing are dismantled.

Screw piles are mounted manually with the help of special devices or special equipment is involved - it all depends on the depth of the supports, the density of the soil, and the amount of work.

The foundation of a wooden house

As a base for a house on piles, a type-setting frame is used, made of a bar of a suitable section and profile. When arranging it, the frame beds are placed on the upper platforms of the pile supports, where they are fixed with several anchor bolts or special brackets. Between themselves, the timber blanks are fastened with staples of a suitable size.

Capital logs are laid along the perimeter of the structure, on which the crowns of the log house are subsequently mounted. Intermediate beams are placed inside, used for partitions. In addition, separate logs are located between them, intended for laying the subfloor.

Erection of log walls and roof

The walls and roofs of buildings made of timber are erected according to the drawings included in the construction project kit. They indicate the main details regarding the construction of one-story buildings.

Finishing

The finishing touch to the construction of any house or cottage is the exterior decoration of facades and walls with the selected type of decorative material. At this stage of work, the following materials are used:

• typical lining;
• moisture resistant drywall;
• various types of plastic.

Finishing materials have a large selection of shades and textures, provide reliable sound insulation and thermal insulation of the building being erected. In addition, they are environmentally friendly and attractive in appearance. External coatings are characterized by ease of installation and subsequent maintenance.

For facing log cabins of their round logs or beams, you will need to make a crate. Slabs of the selected insulation are placed in the niches of the structure. A polyethylene film is stretched over it, which performs the function of waterproofing. Further decorative elements are mounted.
